tec steam

Propellant steam coolers are used in steam cooling applications where classic injections can only be used to a limited extent: low vapor pressures, cooling up to close to saturated steam conditions, high water/steam volume ratios, low water temperature. The use of propellant steam at more than twice as high pressure as the process steam to be cooled enables microscopically fine atomization of the supplied water

Eigenschaften

By using propellant steam and accelerating it to the speed of sound within a Venturi nozzle, the water added radially in the Venturi nozzle space is torn into microscopically fine droplets. This “atomization” of the water causes the water to evaporate much more quickly while maintaining short discharge distances. This makes propellant steam coolers particularly suitable for applications with low steam pressures and the aim of cooling as close to the saturated steam level as possible. An additional control valve is required to regulate the amount of injection water.

Betätigung

The propellant steam cooler is a rigid nozzle arrangement. It is operated via a coolant control valve and a propellant steam shut-off valve.
